Coconut Jelly Squares

Honey and Butter Coconut Jelly Squares

These Jello-like pudding squares are great for vegetarians. Agar- agar is a jelly- like thickening agent that is derived from algae. Usually is sold in stick form or powdered. Go with the stick version if you can, otherwise, the same weight of powder will work just fine.

Honey and Butter, Coconut Jelly Squares

Agar-agar must be heated to a boil first, then it will solidify at room temperature. The texture will be a denser than jello, and not as soft as a traditional custard.

If you like the flavor of coconut, and custard-style desserts, this is a great one to try.
